About Us

AZ Copper Cup ChampionsBack in 2005, it was Racelab U23's inagural season; this team was formed in order to help junior and espoir (under 23yrs old) riders achieve their dreams in the sport of bicycle racing. With the generous sponsorship of Waste Management, Inc we have been able to race U23 amateurs at the highest level among the US pro teams on the NRC circuit. For 2010 our sponsorship contract has run out and we have decided to disolve our Elite Team in favor of an Arizona based club only.

Racelab U23 is remains focused on the development of riders under 25 (U25). We will coninue to race the road, mountain, and cyclocross events in Arizona and for 2010 will be an Arizona based team only with only AZ membership. In 2008, and 2009 our team won the Copper Cup point series and we are currently leading it again in 2009. (photo left: Steve Cullian & Brian Smith Copper Cup Trophy)

Alex Boyd at Nature ValleyIn 2008 and 2009, the team WON the Arizona Copper Cup Large Team Points Title and made a noticeable impression on the national scene. We attended a number of NRC races with our Elite team, and getting outstanding results. At the Nature Valley GP we placed ahead of some pro teams and had top riders in Best Amateur and Best Young Rider. At BC Superweek we again had outstanding results; and in the end of the season we placed 3 of our Elite Team members on pro teams. Our title sponsor Waste Management has been absolutely unflagging in their support and in their support of cycling. (Photo: Alex Boyd - Best Young Rider - Nature Valley)

Currently, we are accepting membership applications from AZ riders. See the Join Form to get on the club.
